The origins of this were, as a prized daughter, the bride was worth so much that the family refused to give them away easily and the groom must prove their worthiness by passing a series of "tests".

Bertha and Kiro's wedding was such a beautiful mix of traditional Assyrian and Egyptian culture blended in with more modern wedding elements!

During the dowery, they had traditional Assyrian music being played while they sang and danced and during the cocktail hour they had a classical violinist playing cover hits from Kanye West and Lana Del Rey.
